Kelvin Mutize is a 2015 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative participant representing Zimbabwe reflects on his first week in the United States.
The Mandela Washington fellowship, launched by U.S President Barack Obama in 2010 under the banner Young African Leaders Initiative.
Mutize is the co-founder of TV Yangu an online video platform and volunteer for Champions of Life a psychosocial support system for families living with HIV/AIDS.
The outstanding leaders will travel to the U.S. this June with over 470 other young African leaders for a six-week program at prestigious U.S. universities.
Makoni, Nyanhi and Dodo said from experiencing the city, to meeting progressive African Americans and linking with their fellow Africans on the program, the first few weeks have been beyond measure.
